Good Deeds checked on Adam, the feral kitten found last June in Santa Rosa with burns on 45 percent of his body. The cat is now 1½-years old.
He was adopted by his veterinary nurse at Animal Hospital of Cotati, Tina Wright, and underwent several surgeries including extensive skin grafts.
Wright said doctors predicted Adam would experience tingling sensations about a year after the grafts and sure enough, the nerve-ending problems began recently.

“He started attacking his own skin. We tried a big cone around his neck, but it depressed him,” said Wright.

The team at Animal Hospital of Cotati decided to try acupuncture. Adam has accepted the alternative medical treatment well.
“Dr. Laura Adams donates her time,” Wright said. “She started with minimal needles and let him get used to it.”
