What’s for breakfast July 4 weekend?

Remember our veterans
A couple of members of Petaluma’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1929 set up a folding table in front of Petaluma Market over the weekend.
They were offering tickets to an annual July 4 fund-raiser breakfast.
It was a hot day and they sat in the shade. A Viet Nam-era veteran and one from World War II passed the time talking about the World’s Ugliest Dog contest winner, Pabst.
On July 4 the VFW is putting on a fund-raiser breakfast including French Toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice and coffee, beginning at 8 a.m. until noon at Petaluma’s Veteran’s Memorial Building at 1094 Petaluma Blvd. Ticket donations are $6 per person.
Hard to imagine how much money they can make on such a nice spread. Proceeds benefit veterans programs.
What are the veterans in your town doing for the Fourth of July?

Good Deeds. Good People. Good Causes. They are all around us. These acts are all pulled together in one place so we can pitch in, take part, or just take heart. Generosity happens every day — share what you see by sending your news to
