Calabash art needed – Food for Thought

Organizers of the Calabash annual fund-raiser for Food For Thought, Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank are seeking new artists to donate gourd art pieces for its silent auction of fine gourd art.
The ninth annual Calabash gala will be held October 4. Artwork is due by Sept. 12. Contact Rachel at 887-1647 or rachelg@fftfoodbank.org.
I think it’s an outrage that Jeri Nager, a volunteer demonstrator and gourd artist has not been invited back to Calabash. I watched her prepare each year for this event as the most important one on her schedule as she thrived on bringing her art and teaching skills to a worthy cause in her own home town only to be shunned last year for no apparent reason.
I think it’s disgraceful and Calabash should be ashamed of itself!
