Retiree safety volunteers

SANTA ROSA FIRE CORPS

The Santa Rosa Fire Department Volunteer Fire Corps is seeking retirees to assist in non-emergency, non-code enforcement activities. Among the openings are those of “presenters,” people who present the fire and home safety program “Remembering When” to seniors. Required skills include the ability to direct small groups of older adults and to to carry 20 pounds of materials. Education or health care experience is a plus and training will be provided. Also, front office help is needed a couple of mornings or afternoons each week. Tasks entail checking phone-tree voicemail, helping with data entry and mailings.
