Santa Rosa’s California Highway Patrol office seeks motivated individauls for its Senior Volunteer Program. Volunteers act as ‘eyes and ears” for the department and supplement everyday operations, allowing officers to handle higher priority calls. They don’t carry weapons or make arrests, but help with filing, traffic complaints, vehicle transfers and answering phone calls. They also run the Age Well, Drive Smart senior driving program.

Orientation will be provided. Volunteers must be 55 or older, pass a background check, and have a safe driving record and no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.

For details, call 588-1400.
