BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley seeks volunteers to assist at basketball games to be held at Maxwell Regional Park in Sonoma Valley. Scoreboard operators, scorekeepers and door monitors are needed from Dec. 7 through Feb. 9. A group of more than 40 volunteers from Redwood Credit Union (RCU), the largest Credit Union in the North Bay, helped out at the Harvest for the Hungry gardens in Santa Rosa as part of National Make A Difference Day on October 24, 2009. Extended Child Care in Santa Rosa seeks an administrative assistant volunteer for light office work a few hours per week. Duties include filing, mailing and word processing. ADULT LITERACY LEAGUE
The Adult Literacy League of Sonoma County provides free one-on-one instruction in English as a Second Language to adults.
Volunteers, who must be 18, can enroll in a tutor training workshop in February. The fee is $55. Tutors meet with their student twice a week in a public place, such as the library.

PETALUMA WETLANDS ALLIANCE
The Petaluma Wetlands Alliance, a committee of the Madrone Audubon Society, will conduct a docent training course on Thursday mornings from Jan. 7 through Feb. 25. Topics include wetlands ecology, plants, birds and other wetlands animals, area history and hands-on activities for children.

LEAGUE FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation seeks volunteers to provide historical interpretation and tours of the Toscano Hotel on the Sonoma Plaza. It was built in the early 1850s and was a hotel for working men between 1886 and 1955. Today, it is a museum and part of the Sonoma State Historic Park.
