Assist with Fire Safety neighborhood canvassing

The American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to assist with a canvassing event from 9:00am to 2:30pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Roseland area of Santa Rosa to promote fire safety awareness. Teams of two, preferably one of whom is bilingual/Spanish speaking, will go door-to-door in a specified neighborhood to share fire prevention information. Redwood Credit Union aiding Haiti relief efforts

Redwood Credit Union is now accepting contributions to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to directly assist the victims of the Haiti earthquake. All RCU branch locations have been designated as collection sites for donations from Members and the general public. How to help those in Haiti

The American Red Cross is welcoming donations to its International Response Fund, which can be earmarked for Haiti, said Ellen Maremont Silver of the Red Cross, Sonoma and Mendocino County. A $10 donation can be made automatically by texting “Haiti” to 90999, she said. Donations can also be made by calling the local red Cross at 707 577-7600 or at its Web site, www.arcsm.org.

Earthquake preparedness in Santa Rosa
