The Salvation Army’s Tutoring & Mentoring Program needs volunteers for elementary-age students in public schools. Tutoring occurs after school on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tutors will be paired with the same student each week, assisting them in reading, math and basic homework assignments. The Salvation Army and Double Punches Boxing Club seek a mentor for at-risk youth. The mentor receives hands-on training at the Salvation Army, 93 Stony Circle, Santa Rosa. Over the course of one week, the entire SSU campus worked together to raise more than 1800 pounds of non-perishable goods for the Redwood Empire Food Bank, making it the most successful food drive ever by the University.
